Monday, August 5th 5-8pm: Wine Club Throw Down
You know what time it is…come taste through this month’s wines and pick up your bottles. We’re at peak summer and the wines are all about refreshing and reviving! As always, the Throw Down is open to the public and you’re welcome to taste all 6 wines for $15. If you sign up for the club while you’re here we’ll waive your tasting fee!

Wednesday, August 7th 6-9pm: Amy Atwood X Bar Norman
If you follow what’s what in California wine, you probably know about the dynamic bad-ass boss that is Amy Atwood. Her company, Amy Atwood Selections, represents some fantastic California and Oregon wineries, as well as a handful of import portfolios like Jenny & Francois and Eklektikon. And on top of all of that, she also has her own label of California natural wines, OENO. Amy Atwood is NOT. A. SLACKER. We’re pleased to have Amy behind the bar, pouring some of her OENO wines as well as a few favorites from Jenny & Francois. No tickets, just drop in.

Monday, August 12th 6:30pm: Georgian Supra at Vivienne
Join us for this very special collaboration with Robin Wheelwright of Vivienne and Sean Fredericks of Kargi Gogo: we’re throwing a Georgian supra! Come eat, drink, and toast like the Georgian’s do with an abundant feast of traditional dishes based around mid-summer produce. Beautiful wines, some chacha (if you don’t know, you will), and Georgian music all evening. Tickets are very limited and available here (click the ‘events’ tab). Dinner begins at 6:30pm at Vivienne and is vegetarian and no-proof friendly.

Friday, August 16th 6-9pm: Hummus Hang
Our monthly Hummus Hang rides again! Friend and neighbor of Bar Norman, and all around super-woman, K-Bar, is back with another delicious evening of her insane hummus, labneh, hand-made breads, and other middle-eastern-by-way-of-Oregon dishes. Drop in for lots of summery wines by the glass and bottle, a la carte hummus-y things, and music, as usual. There’s room, and food, for everyone! Hint: come early, the food sells out! No tickets, just drop in.

Monday, August 19th 6-10pm: Cutter Cascadia Wines ‘Heavy Water’ Release Party
We’re thrilled to be hosting our friend, Michael Garofola of Cutter Cascadia as he releases his latest über-cool wine from the Dalles, a skin-contact wine called Heavy Water. If you’ve ever drunk his other wines, Baby Blue and Strawberry Mullet, you know Michael has a serious knack for great farming and making delicious wines. Join us as we pop his newest wine, along with some European wines that’ve inspired Heavy Water. Johnny and Lauren, the wünderkinds behind Astral will be cheffing up fish tacos (!!) out front and we’ll be chugging riesling like water. No tickets, just drop in.

Friday, August 23rd 7-10pm: Cherry Bomb! Dessert Pop-Up
Sweet teeth of the world unite! Maya Erickson, pastry chef extraordinaire of Langbaan (formerly of San Francisco’s Lazy Bear), is back for an evening of her creative, beautiful, and delicious desserts. If you’ve eaten at Langbaan, you can expect some very NON-Thai inspired flavors! No tickets, just drop in for a la carte desserts and wines by the glass.

Tuesday, August 27th 6-10pm: Fundraising Night for The Numberz
Along with our family at Bow & Arrow, we’re thrilled to support The Numberz, Portland’s only all-Black radio station (96.7 FM). Programmed, engineered, edited, DJ’d, and operated by an all-Black staff, The Numberz plays a mix of hip-hop, old-school funk and soul, jazz, gospel, Motown hits and other expressions of Black musical excellence spanning more than 80 years. Beginning mid-month they’re kicking off a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for their studio and programming needs, and we’re supporting the cause with 100% of proceeds going towards the campaign. Stop by for music by Numberz co-founder DJ Ambush and our own DJ Broken Arrow, delicious wines that will benefit the station, and a chance to support the community.
